JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a highly organised and business-minded Purchasing Officer to join our Purchasing department. In this role, you will be responsible for sourcing products, negotiating with suppliers, and ensuring timely stock availability to meet market demand. Your contribution will directly impact our pricing competitiveness and strengthen our relationships with key partners in a dynamic retail environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Source and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, warranty and service.
  • Negotiate purchasing terms and pricing agreements to maximize profitability.
  • Work with sales and inventory data to forecast product demand.
  • Prepare purchase orders, ensuring accuracy as per agreement.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the warehouse team to maintain optimal stock levels.
  • Coordinate logistics and shipping arrangements and monitor the status of inbound consignments.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with both local and international suppliers.
  • Stay informed on the latest trends and new products.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • 1-2 years of experience in a purchasing or procurement role.
  • Working knowledge of Excel
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in work
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a team.
  • Fluency in Maltese and English.

Nice to HAVE

  • Working knowledge on Shireburn/WinSims
  • Qualification in Supply Chain Management
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of consumer electronics and home appliances.
