JOB DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a highly organised, business-minded, responsible and dependable Purchasing Officer to join our team and play a key role in managing stocks, suppliers, and product sourcing to ensure we consistently deliver exceptional service to our customers. In this role, you will be responsible for sourcing products, negotiating with suppliers, and ensuring timely stock availability to meet market demand.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Source and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, warranty and service.
- Negotiate purchasing terms and pricing agreements to maximize profitability.
- Manage purchasing processes and supplier relationships to ensure timely stock availability.
- Assisting in price negotiations and agreements to maximise profitability.
- Conduct market and competitor analysis to identify new product opportunities and evaluate pricing trends.
- Coordinate with the Sales and Marketing Department to prepare for sellout events and promotions of new products.
- Work with sales and inventory data to forecast product demand.
- Accurately monitor inventory levels and forecasting needs.
- Coordinate with the warehouse and retail teams to maintain optimal stock levels.
- Coordinate logistics and shipping arrangements and monitor the status of inbound consignments.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with both local and international suppliers.
- Identify risks in product availability and propose alternative options.
- Stay informed on the latest trends and new products.
REQUIRED SKILLS
- 1-2 years of experience in a purchasing or procurement role.
- Working knowledge of Excel.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Strong focus and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities accurately.
- Strong commitment to meeting deadlines and maintain accuracy.
- Ability to understand processes and anticipate business needs.
- Pro-active “can-do” attitude.
- Willingness to learn and adapt.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a team.
- Fluency in Maltese and English.
Nice to HAVE
- Working knowledge on Shireburn/WinSims.
- Qualification in Supply Chain Management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of consumer electronics and home appliances.
- Experience in a retail environment.
