JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for an experienced Technician to install, diagnose faults, service and repair household appliances. The ideal candidate should have practical experience with washing, drying and cooking appliances, together with a valid Maltese driving licence. Refrigeration and Air Conditioning technical knowledge will be considered an asset. The technician will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, ensuring timely and efficient repairs, and maintaining a high level of safety and professionalism.

Key RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Install, connect, test, and commission all household appliances according to manufacturers’ instructions.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electronics and electrical faults washing machines, tumble dryers, dish washers, and repair them.
  • Diagnose and repair electric and gas ovens.
  • Carry out repairs and preventive maintenance on water heaters.
  • Use diagnostic tools, multi meters, wiring diagrams, and service manuals to identify faults accurately.
  • Replace faulty components, complete safety checks, and test equipment after repairs.
  • Carry out preventive maintenance and advise customers on correct use and care.
  • Attend service calls at customers’ homes, company premises and workshops.
  • Record faults, work completed, parts used, and any further repairs required.
  • Coordinate with the Service Department to request spare parts and provide progress updates.
  • Drive the company vehicle safely and keep tools, spare parts, and work areas organised.
  • Move and handle appliances safely, using suitable equipment and team assistance.

What we’re looking for

  • Proven hands-on experience in repairing washing machines, tumble dryers, and water heaters.
  • Good knowledge of electrical and mechanical components, appliance controls.
  • Ability to diagnose faults independently, efficiently and recommend suitable repairs.
  • Ability to read wiring diagrams and follow technical manuals.
  • Experience using electrical testing equipment and diagnostic tools safely.
  • A valid Category B driving licence recognised in Malta.
  • Basic plumbing knowledge.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to organise daily service calls, manage time, and complete accurate reports.
  • A research approach to safety, punctuality, and care of customers’ property.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Nice To Have

  • Refrigeration and Air Conditioning knowledge.
  • A qualification in appliance repair, electrical engineering, refrigeration, air conditioning, Refrigerant F Gas certification, or any certification in a related technical field.
  • Experience working with different appliance brands and electronic control boards.
  • Experience in warranty repairs and after-sales service.
