Hybrid Technology

The Hybrid Technology in the Ariston Lydos Hybrid water heater combines the technologies of a heat pump and heating element. With the help of the i-Memory function, the Lydos Hybrid water heater will choose the most convenient method to reach the set temperature at the required time, using either of the two technologies or both technologies simultaneously.

Boost Mode (Heat Pump + Heating Element)
The water heater simultaneously uses the heat pump and heating element to reach the desired temperature in the shortest possible time. Once the temperature is reached, the system returns to the previous operating mode.

Green Mode (Heat Pump only)
The water heater will use the heat pump, thereby ensuring maximum energy saving! The temperature set point varies between 40°C and 53°C. The temperature setting is achieved without the use of the electrical heating element which only activates during the operation of an anti-legionella cycle, antifreeze mode, in ambient temperatures outside the operating temperatures, or heat pump faults.

The Ariston Lydos Hybrid is the most efficient when it uses the Heat Pump only, and it takes 9Hr 21Min to reach a 53°C set temperature, considering the following ambient settings: 20°C ambient temperature, 10°C inlet water temperature, and relative humidity of 37%.

i-Memory Function

The i-Memory Function is the complete management of the Hybrid Technology. The software learns the user’s water usage habits to efficiently manage the hybrid technology by choosing the most convenient option between using air energy or electricity, or both sources simultaneously.

After an initial learning phase, the i-Memory is able to program the water temperature, to meet your needs while saving time and energy. It always ensures the availability of hot water, memorizing the water usage habits for four weeks and adapting to your daily needs.

User Friendly Control Panel

Ariston is committed to delivering more comfort, therefore the Ariston Hybrid range is characterized by a user-friendly control panel using the latest technology. Using the soft-touch buttons on the control panel, the user can conveniently select the precise temperature setting.

Shower Ready Function
The “shower ready” icon on the control panel lights up when enough hot water for at least one shower is prepared. The quantity of hot water is determined by internal parameters and varies per model.

Programming Function (P1 & P2)
The programming function allows the user to have hot water exactly at the time it is needed. The user may set up to 2 different timers. The water heater itself calculates backward the heating start time so that at the set time the tank will be full of hot water and ready to be used.

Number of Showers
The icons on the top part of the display indicate the number of showers that can be taken with the current hot water in the water heater.

Safety & Total Hygiene

The water heaters in Ariston’s Lydos Eco series have passed all the safety tests required to be fully compliant with the CE directives. The copper heating element helps to increase the hygiene and purity of the heated water.

Anti-Bacteria/Legionella (Thermal Disinfection Cycle)
The anti-legionella function is activated by default. It consists of a heating/maintenance cycle of the water at 60°C for 1hr to carry out thermal disinfection against the relevant bacteria. If the water heater always works at a temperature below 55°C, the cycle is repeated after 30 days. When the water heater is turned off, the anti-legionella function is not active.
Legionella is a bacteria that is found naturally in fresh water. Legionnaire’s disease is a serious pulmonary infection caused by inhalation of the Legionella pneumophilia bacterium and other species of Legionella.

Auto Diagnostic System
If a fault occurs, the water heater goes into a fault status and all the LEDs on the control panel will flash simultaneously. This means that the water heater requires our assistance.

Anti-Freezing Function
The anti-freeze function automatically protects the water heater to avoid damages caused by very low temperatures below 5°C, in the event the product is turned off (if plugged in). Once the function is activated, the water heater will switch off again after the water reaches a safer temperature.

Dry-Heating Auto Diagnosis
The water heater will automatically disconnect from the electricity network if there is a lack of water in the tank. This prevents the heating cycle from starting and damages the water heater.
